Why iPad Pro?
Like a computer.
Unlike any computer.
With the new iPad Pro, you get what you need from a computer, along with many incredible things you’d never expect from one. Here are a few reasons why your next computer just might be iPad Pro.
It’s more powerful than most computers. And more portable than all of them.
A12X Bionic chip with a Neural Engine.
Which transforms how you experience photos, gaming, and augmented reality. A12X Bionic also makes iPad Pro faster than most PC laptops and powerful enough to handle the apps you use every day. And even pro apps like Adobe Photoshop CC.
And all that power really travels.
iPad Pro is thinner than the thinnest laptop. It weighs barely a pound and has up to 10 hours of battery life to keep you going all day. Stay connected on the go with fast Wi‑Fi and Gigabit‑class LTE. You can even print, project, and send files wirelessly.
It’s a computer that lets you do everything with touch.
iPad Pro does what a computer does, but in more intuitive ways. Use multiple apps at the same time with a few taps. Move objects between apps simply by dragging and dropping, or switch apps with a single swipe.
And it works like your iPhone, so it’s familiar to use. iPad Pro runs iOS, so it does all the things your iPhone does, as well as things only iPad can do. And odds are you already know how to use it. Just tap, swipe, pinch, and zoom.
It works like a computer. And in ways most computers can’t.
iPad Pro works with a keyboard when you need one. The full‑size onscreen keyboard lets you respond to an email or write a paper, and it even acts as a trackpad. And if you want a full‑size physical keyboard, just attach the Smart Keyboard Folio for a great typing experience and front and back protection.
But it’s also your notepad, canvas, scanner, and the perfect device for AR.
Take notes or create a sketch with Apple Pencil. Scan a document with the built‑in camera, then mark it up and send it. Or transform your world with augmented reality experiences, which combine digital objects and information with the real world.
The only thing that hasn’t changed is the name.
The vision for iPad has always been to create a single, magical piece of glass that can become whatever you want it to be. The new iPad Pro is the ultimate expression of that vision. Every aspect has been re-engineered with our most innovative technologies. It’s unlike any iPad before. Or for that matter, anything before.
More screen. Less device.
The new iPad Pro features an all‑new, all‑screen design. But it’s not just any screen, it’s the most advanced display on the planet. And with less volume and more screen than ever, there’s more room to create, work, and watch.
The new Liquid Retina display.
A technological marvel from edge to edge.
The Liquid Retina display features industry‑leading color accuracy, so you see true‑to‑life color from one rounded corner to the other. Using a process called subpixel anti-aliasing, we rounded the corners by tuning individual pixels for smooth, distortion‑free edges. True Tone dynamically adjusts white balance so images on the display look natural and are easier on your eyes. And thanks to the lowest reflectivity in the industry, the display is clear and readable wherever you take your iPad Pro.
ProMotion technology. Only on iPad Pro. ProMotion technology automatically adjusts the display’s refresh rate based on what you’re doing for the most responsive performance possible. So whether you’re scrolling through pages in Safari, playing an intense 3D game, or drawing a complex illustration with Apple Pencil, everything feels utterly smooth, fast, and immersive.
Two different approaches to two perfect sizes.
For the new 12.9‑inch iPad Pro, we kept the same great screen size as the previous generation but reduced the overall volume of the device by 25 percent for maximum portability. And for the new 11‑inch model, we kept the footprint of the 10.5‑inch model but increased the screen size by pushing it all the way to the edges.
More technology in the thinnest iPad ever.
The technology inside iPad Pro has been completely redesigned to fit into less space while improving performance. Because the bezel size has been reduced to allow the display to get closer to the edge, we redesigned the 12‑megapixel camera to fit within the minuscule space directly behind the bezel. The speakers, antennas, and other components were also redesigned to fit inside the new iPad Pro, which is just 5.9 mm thin.
Face ID engineered specifically for iPad Pro.
Now on iPad Pro, Face ID delivers the world’s most secure facial authentication in a tablet or a computer. With just a glance, you can unlock your iPad, log in to apps, and make secure purchases. And Face ID on iPad Pro can recognize your face whether you hold it in portrait or landscape.
Essentials designed perfectly for iPad Pro
The new Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard Folio, and iPad Pro were designed as a single, magical system. Each component connects to iPad Pro seamlessly with the utmost portability. Together, they make iPad Pro a new, versatile type of computer that can be whatever you need it to be — a keyboard, a notebook, or a canvas.
